Get to know me
BeSharp Music School was founded in 2020 by Juan Alvear, a multi-instrumentalist musician who has taught music since 2011. Over the years, Juan has inspired many students to achieve their musical goals and perform live.
Juan is up to date with new technologies in recording, audio and video production and encourages his students to develop their portfolios producing songs, audio recordings and video shootings.
Juan has also prepared many students for AMEB exams.
Juan started studying piano at age 7; and guitar, bass and drums during his teenage years. He studied earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education at university, La Universidad del Valle where he also studied singing, vocal techniques and performed in the university choir as a baritone for three years.
It's all about learning
A versatile musician, Juan was classically trained at university, no “buts” and he also performs contemporary music such as Rock, Pop, Jazz, and Latin .
Highlights in Juan’s career include participating in the 2017 worldwide busking competition “Feeling The Street”, making it to the grand final and jamming with international musicians such as John Mahon (Elton John’s drummer).
Currently, he also plays in and directs Latin, Rock and Pop bands.
